Blue Mountain Blanc de Blancs R.D. Méthode Traditionelle 2009
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRetasted 3 years along, and this is as vibrant as ever, now with more bottle age to mellow out the form. This chardonnay spent 5.5 years on lees and was disgorged August 2016. Light toast, smoked stone, lemon, green apple, with a subtle hint of oxidative notes creeping in, wrapping around the ripe, meringue core, finishing with an alluring wash of mineral salts. Lovely completeness. One of Canada's top sparkling wines.Tasted: 22 February 2020Tasted by: Prices: BC 39.90 winery direct, private retail, restaurants

Blue Mountain Blanc de Blancs R.D. Méthode Traditionelle 2009
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA year ago, we reviewed the Blue Mountain Blanc de Blancs R. D. Méthode Traditionelle disgorged in late 2016. The winery held half of the wine back to space out the supply and gave it another year in bottle before releasing it in December 2017. If anything, it’s better with its smoked stone, toasted nut and bright citrus notes even further integrated into a mix of green apple and a blend of toasted hazelnuts and almonds. Focus, purity and finesse make this a market leader in British Columbia. Oysters or assorted west coast shellfish are the match — first class.Tasted: 01 December 2017Tasted by: Prices: BC 39.90 winery direct, private retail, restaurants

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWe love the finessed here in what is a linear chardonnay that spends 5.5 years on its lees before another year's rest in the bottle. It opens with smoked stone, toasted nut and bright citrus notes preview an intense Granny smith and toasted almonds flavours sitting over a gently cushioned palate - one focused and pure through its vibrant finish. Lean and lemon-led, it is a natural for oysters — first class.Tasted: 28 November 2016Tasted by: Prices: BC 39.90 winery direct, private retail, restaurants
