Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI first encountered this wine back in June and it has certainly progressed in bottle since then. The Last Word is a 34/32/24/10/ blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and malbec uniquely co-fermented that spends some 20 months in all French oak barrels. It’s not a shy wine at 14.5 percent, but it remains focused and linear on the palate. The wine will only be made in those years when everything goes right, such as 2013. The nose and palate are awash in dark licorice aromas and warm flavours of black cherries, cooked plums and flecks of graphite. Lush and ripe there is no real rush to open this before 2018, but if you do, be sure you serve it with a rare piece of roast beef. California meets Bordeaux in the Okanagan.Tasted: 03 October 2016Tasted by: Prices:

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe first time for The Last Word, this is an "icon blend" of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and malbec that was co-fermented for one month before spending twenty months in French oak. Smooth and seamless throughout, this is a medium/full spice box of cassis, wild blackberry, black cherry, anise and graphite that streams along a current of bright acidity. Tannins are structurally sound, and lightly sticky, while the finish is typical Okanagan sun-warmed (14.5 percent declared). A current release of 2013, CedarCreek has done the hard cellaring work for you, though this will easily sit through a few more years in your cellar for maximum enjoyment.Tasted: 03 October 2016Tasted by: Prices:
