Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRoasted stems, coffee and blackberry dominate this grainy, extracted syrah. Mocha, steak sauce, vanilla and bitter cassis shuts down the finish. Bold and proud of it, this desert-ringed, south Okanagan shiraz spent 14 months in American and French oak, 20 percent of which was new.
