Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA Bordeaux-style blend brings all the heavy hitters (merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and malbec) in a floral, bright red that tastes lighter than its 14+ percent alcohol and southern Okanagan provenance. Lifted violets, blueberry and perfumed plum brightens plush, sweetly ripe cassis, tar, black liquorice and cedar hewn tannins. Fifty percent whole cluster pressed before fermentation adds a juicy quality but eighteen months in American and French oak bring sit back down to earth where the vanilla lingers. This was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
