Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPoplar Grove Merlot is easy to enjoy, with an inviting aroma of vanilla and black cherry fruit. The initial taste is soft and smooth, characteristic of Merlot, and the palate echoes this with plummy, black cherry flavours and licorice notes, along with soft, well-balanced tannins. It's a solid effort that could benefit from a bit more concentration and acidity to truly shine. Pleasant and ready to drink now, especially with most grilled meats. The wine spends a lengthy 21 months in 100% French oak.
