Poplar Grove Merlot 2007
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLike the previous version this is on big showy rich merlot that flirts with volatility and too much alcohol but manages to pull it off in the end. Sweet oak and black cherries and lots of vanilla mix with savoury dried herbs and plenty of gripp-y tannins but somehow it all works. You can drink it now with rich meat dishes or cellar this bottle for three to five years.
