Le Vieux Pin Sauvignon Blanc 2015
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAny way you look at it you have to be diligent to make sauvignon blanc in the south Okanagan. At LVP they picked early in 2015 to get taut acidity and moderate alcohol. The result is a bright, fresh style with rich, gooseberry/Meyer lemon aromas and an even sharper orchard fruit flavour on the palate before a stony, mineral back end. The magic comes from partial skin contact before pressing, stainless steel, neutral oak and a different scheme for each vessel holding juice. Look for bright, passion fruit/grapefruit flavours with a touch of stony/minerality.
