C.C. Jentsch Syrah 2014
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSmoky cured meats and perfumed florals puff up this ripe and full-bodied syrah that has experienced a quick rise in recent years to become a BC favourite. Nine percent viognier was co-fermented in the mix, adding an orchard perfume to the blackberry, cassis, coffee-laden palate. Sticky tannins are textured enough to support the fruit as well as add some brightness to a hefty palate at 14.4 percent. Young, but with the viognier in the mix it is very drinkable, especially with grilled beef or lamb. Best suited for short term cellaring.Tasted: 29 August 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $29.90 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
