Greywacke Chardonnay 2012

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandSavoury, wild herbs, brioche, white peach and large flaked salt dominate this complexed, textured white from Marlborough. The majority of fruit was drawn from the Brancott Valley and Fairhall, with soils a mix of gravelly, clay loam soils and greywacke river stones. Whole bunch pressing, wild yeast and lengthy fermentation and aging in French barriques further up the complexities in this full bodied wine, while flint, hay, sweet peas and salts linger on the lengthy finish. The whole is drawn along a steady bead of acidity. Age-worthy.Tasted: 08 June 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
