Culmina Family Estate Saignée Rosé 2015

Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis full, silken and polished pale rosé glides on the tongue, as much a result of the ripe, sun warmed fruit as the fourteen percent alcohol. A step up from 2015, this saignée rosé blends merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and malbec from Golden Mile's Arise Bench vineyard. Delicate wild strawberries, lavender, thyme, tangerine peel float on a full-bodied palate, one with a small bump of sugar and more potent than many red wines. A distinct style (and not just because of the glass Vinolok stopper) though I would love to see this with less-is-more thinking. Pour with something equally hefty; suckling pig with lentils would work beautifully.Tasted: 20 May 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
