Domaine Drouhin Laurène 2012

Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesClassic Dundee, with pretty, perfumed red fruit. Wild yeast and lower yields, plus the know-how of the Burgundian Veronique Drouhin results in a finessed, graceful pinot of dark cherry and raspberry, with sueded, soft tannins. Willamette's 2012 ripeness blended with Drouhin's Burgundian's tradition. It's all estate, handpicked, fermented on its own yeast, in French oak and never more than 20 percent is new. Only the best barrels make the Lauren blend and they are usually the ones she thinks best express the property. Drinking well now, but will reward with five plus years in the cellar.Tasted: 31 March 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
