Piedmont, ItalyThe problem of Fontanafredda in Canada is that it's been here so long that you project on it preconceived notions that has nothing to do with it here and now. That couldn't be further from the truth - this wine is as current and delicious now as it ever was. Almonds, herbed honey, citrus and cracked stone aromas carry through onto the lively palate, one cushioned with a light sheen of waxiness. More of cortese de gavi's lively quince, grapefruit and mineral energy rides the length of the lean body along to a salty, snappy finish.
