Vinaceous Snake Charmer 2012

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaStraight up McLaren Vale shiraz aged about 15 months in French and American oak that is one quarter new. Open, lifted, black fruit nose and flavours with a sprinkling of milk chocolate. The oak is a bit soupy and the acidy pokes through the back end but all in all a decent drop. Perfect or pork or beef. Snake Charmer is basket pressed into some 25% new oak barriques (French and American) where it finished its fermentation and matures for 14-16 months maturation in the same oak. The wines are made by contract winemaker Mike Farmilo (ex-Penfolds) and finished at Vinaceous. The fruit comes off old vine shiraz vineyards in the heart of McLaren Vale.Tasted: 03 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
