Napa Valley, California, United StatesA difficult vintage, including one with botrytis, is rare in Napa but 2011 was one of them. Not enough heat saw the year drag ion into November, but wait maybe that can be a good thing – a Bordeaux thing. Low alcohol marks the year although this Hobbs wine red comes in at 14.4. I like the cooler aspects of this wine, red and blue fruits, sweet spices, mint and tobacco. The textures are soft, accessible and this will be ready to drink over the five to seven year mark.
