Haywire Free Form Natural and Unfiltered Red 2014

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFree form is the 'natural' line of wines from Haywire. The 2014 red is true to name boasting a wild yeast fermentation in amphora before resting on skins for eight months. It was bottled unfiltered and without additives or SO2. The nose is a mix of sweet earth, wild thorny berries and wild flowers previewing a juicy, sweet strawberry fruit palate. Acids are sharp edged and tannins are moderate and furry, finishing with a sweet tobacco, dusty mineral note. For adventuresome folks (who have money to devote to adventuresome wine) and a further progression into natural wines for the Okanagan and BC. This is a single clone (667) pinot noir grown on Waters & Banks Vineyard.Tasted: 15 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
