Château Pesquié Ventoux Terrasses Rouge 2013

Ventoux, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe ’13 Les Terrasses is a 60/40 blend of grenache and syrah, or almost. There are traces of carignan, cinsault and mourvèdre. The site sits at about 300 meters above sea level over gravelly soil covered with pebble and limestones to less rich in iron oxides sands and clays. Some thirty percent of the mix sees oak for about six months, but none of it is new. Expect a spicy (black pepper) nose with a big, juicy, red fruits laced with garrigue. The tannins are silky, but creamy that will help this wine live through 2020 — versatile chicken, pizza, cassoulet red. Good value.Tasted: 04 December 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
