Luigi Scavino Azelia Langhe Nebbiolo 2013
Piedmont, ItalyThis nebbiolo is lighter in colour than the Bricco dell ‘Oriolo, exhibiting a pure nose of violets with lifted red fruit scents, perhaps aided by a stainless steel fermentation. On the palate the wine is dry but juicy with firm youthful tannins and fine, underlying red fruits reminiscent of cherries and strawberries. The fruit comes off 15-25 year old fruit in Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba that yield ripe tannins. You can age this easily or drink it now with a favourite cut of beef or a mushroom risotto. Less than 1000 cases made.Tasted: 03 November 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $38.99 | 750ml | special order - Liquid Art Selections |
