Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandIntense grapefruit and lime aromas jump from the glass flecked with nectarine skin and notes of lemongrass. The palate is excruciatingly taut and acidic with strong mineral, stony notes mixed with dried sweet herbs and tropical fruit flavours. A small percentage is fermented at warmer temperatures in old French oak barriques and large format oak vats. A benevolent vintage yields a super fresh and tropical sauvignon blanc that needs a grilled piece of fish or cheese to tame its fairly overt acidity.
