Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay Couvent des Jacobins 2014

Burgundy, FranceWhen you think of Burgundy you typically don't immediately think of value, but this Bourgogne blanc ticks all the boxes and rings up for under $30. Sourced from the Cote Chalonnaise, the Mâconnais and the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune. Moderate toast, baked apple, pear aromas carry through to the firm palate. Green apple acidity and sharp lemon pith leaps out from the toast and cream of the full bodied palate. Partial ferment and aging on the lees in oak casks plumps up the palate. The finish is biting, ending with a bitter wood and tart citrus note, making for a clumsy lasting impression. Pair with lemon dressed white fish for best results.Tasted: 19 October 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
