Bartier Bros. Semillon 2013

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCerqueira Vineyard is making a special case for it terroir as expressed by Michael Bartier’s semillon. The gently western sloping vineyard land on the lower side of Black Sage Road, nestled between Oliver and Osoyoos is home to calcium carbonate covered granite stones. Quintessential Okanagan terroir jumps out of this glass in the form of dried herbs, nettle, sagebrush, wild flowers and muted apricot fruit. Slim but chalky with fabulous acidity this is the real thing. Should live forever. Serve with just about anything. Some 80 percent of the juice was fermented concrete; the remainder in stainless steel with 4 weeks of post fermentation lees contact.
