Transcendent 2010

Napa Valley, California, United StatesIn spite of its moniker, and wax covered corked, Transcendent is an attractive New World cabernet that boasts an intense black cherry, blueberry fruit nose of what must have been tiny cabernet sauvignon berries. The attack is linear with structured cabernet tannins, slightly grip-y tannins and balanced freshness. The finish is youthful with some tannin yet to shed but in a less fat mode it has its attraction. There’s 11 percent merlot in the mix and its needed to soften the textures. For the moment it need time in the bottle. If opening the bottle is on the agenda make sure you have a grilled leg of lamb at the ready.Tasted: 10 August 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
