Minervois la Liviniere, Minervois, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe grenache, syrah, mourvèdre and carignan that make up this powerful wine come from a single vineyard between 110-210m in La Livinière. A very expressive nose, reveals earth, meat, blood, leather, and ample dark perfumes. Dense, ripe cassis dominates the layered palate, allowing leather, dried and fresh black cherry, wild rosemary, cured meats and iodine each turns to shine through. Firm tannins rein all this power in, and will slowly release over the next decade as the wine matures. Unfined and unfiltered, with great length and depth.Tasted: 27 August 2015Tasted by: Prices:
Minervois la Liviniere, Minervois, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceMade from a single 3 hectare parcel at La Livinière inside the Chateau Laville Bertrou property. The nose is meaty with coffee, leather, toasted vanilla and blackberry with curry, cigar, garrigue and liquorice aromas. The palate is full dry and juicy with a ripe tannic structure. Liquorice, blackberry, black raspberry jam, coffee, five spice and garrigue flavours. Long and complex with very good concentration and intensity. Despite a bit of warmth, this is an exceptional offering that will benefit from 3-5 years in bottle. The blend is 65/20/15 syrah grenache and carignan.Tasted: 29 November 2013Tasted by: Prices:
