Gérard Bertrand Grand Terroir La Clape 2011

Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis syrah/carignan/mourvèdre from La Clape has gained complexity and shed baby weight over the two years since we last tasted it. Limestone soils and a coastal Mediterranean climate yield a freshness and minerality to this floral, red fruited blend. Currants, floral perfume, garrigue, big peppery spices rasp along fine, gravelly tannins, ending with a light grittiness. Juicy, structured and nimble - a winning combination for salt crusted chicken. Drinking well now.Tasted: 27 August 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
