Eau Vivre Winery Malbec 2012

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRipe blueberries, liquorice, musk perfume and nutmeg open this Similkameen malbec - a rarity. The perfumes continue to the palate, concentrated, ripe dark fruited and violets dominate, lightened by a brisk acidity. Tannins are granular and a bit chalky on the clipped, vanillin finish. Fermented and aged in French and American oak for eighteen months - hoping for a lighter hand with the wood program in future editions so the fruit purity could really shine. That said, drinking well now, and would make a good mate with sticky, BBQ beef or pork ribs.Tasted: 28 August 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
