Taylor Fladgate Very Old Single Harvest Port 1965

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalLike its 1964 predecessor this 1965 Colheita, single vintage tawny, is part of the ongoing series of releases of featuring 50 year old Taylor Colheitas. A field blend with distinction that offers up those long slippery silky textures underlying its mahogany, molasses, caramel aromas and toffee, ginger, walnut/vanilla fig flavours. More old tawny in style than anything else; you are sipping history. Perhaps a bit more man-ly than the 1964 but really there is precious little to choose between the two releases.
