Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe first duty of a reserva is to be better than the regular bottling – mission accomplished. In this case the reserva series brings more body and stuffing if you like along with an injection of plums and dried herbs. Still very Maipo with its resiny, savoury notes this merlot comes with a whack of black cherry, bay leaf and tobacco flavours that don’t quit. A simple grilled steak would be a fine match or a spicy chicken salad.
