Santa Rita Merlot Reserva 2011
Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileBenign and merlot go together in Chile but they don't have to as demonstrated at Santa Rita. The reserva series has an injection of flavour and structure over the 120. In this case the soft textures of the 90 percent merlot are the perfect foil to its savoury black cherry bay leaf aromas and cassis, cedar, black cherry, tobacco flavours. Not as tart as previous edition and worked well with grilled steak.
