Puemo, Valle del Cachapoal, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThis Peumo carmenere surprises in many ways, not the least of which with value for price. Earthy, green herbal notes, with blackcurrant, ripe black cherry and a salty, almost seaweed, flickering throughout. Green coffee, cedar boughs, cranberry, anise, bay leaf all contribute interesting complexity here, far beyond what I was expecting.
