Bench 1775 Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSauvignon blanc has proven tricky in BC so far with very few top quality producers but it look as if winemaker Val Tait will join a small group with this edition. Tait makes multiple passes through her vineyard to get super fresh fruit early and riper fruit as the fall progresses. It’s all whole-cluster pressed and fermented and the result is a super fresh wine that opens up with gooseberry and melon fruit but finishes with a softer tropical fruit and chalky edge. Perfect for a wide variety of shellfish including our favourite oysters. Well done - another jump up in quality over previous vintages.Tasted: 30 June 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
