Pierre Amadieu Domaine Grand Romane Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2013
Gigondas, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLight butter, quince, pear, honey, floral, apricot, vanilla and nutty lees aromas. Dry, fresh, round, elegant palate that is a touch soft and oily. Earthy, spicy, ginger, apricot mix with light citrus flavours and baked pear, vanilla and lees on the finish. Fine fruit and finesse. This Cotes du Rhone Blanc is produced from 100 percent clairette, the oldest vines on the property, planted in 1955 at some 300+ meters. The wine is barrel fermented in new French oak barrels. In fact it is really a Gigondas blanc reflecting the true freshness of the terroir. The winery suggest you serve it with fish or goat’s cheese. Only 7,000 bottles are made each year.Tasted: 31 May 2015Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Evolution Fine Wines |
