Aconcagua Costa, Valle de Aconcagua, Region de Aconcagua, ChileFruit from the cooler, maritime influenced Aconcagua Costa region makes up the bulk of this bright and intense white. Spring asparagus, green hedge, white florals are the entry to a vibrant palate. Tropical fruits abound - pineapple, mango, passionfruit and kiwi - before a spicy, lingering peach fuzz finish. Lees work lends complexity and a cushion of weight to the mid palate. Will stand up to heavier white fish and fruit chutneys.Tasted: 08 April 2015Tasted by: Prices:
Aconcagua Costa, Valle de Aconcagua, Region de Aconcagua, ChileWe love the Max Reserva Sauvignon Blanc sourced mainly from the Manzanar Vineyard on the cool Aconcagua Costa some 12 km from the Pacific Ocean and 25 percent from Casablanca Valley. Just a hint of wine is fermented in barrel to retain the freshness but all of it is aged on its lees for complexity. We love the mix of citrus and dried herbs with just enough passion fruit to give it a fruity underbelly. The finish is long and creamy. First rate stuff in a boring second rate package. Isn't sauvignon supposed to be fun?Tasted: 31 July 2014Tasted by: Prices:
