Concha y Toro Terrunyo Andes Block Las Terrazas Cabernet Sauvignon Pirque Vineyard 2012

Pirque, Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileRich fresh blackberry, cassis, peppery nose with tobacco, cedar, vanilla, licorice and light coffee and black olive aromas. Ripe, round, rich, fresh, juicy palate with only fine-grained tannins. Coffee, black berry, smoky, cassis, tobacco, cedar, meaty, savoury, bay and vanilla flavours. Good concentration and length with some youthful tannins to smooth out over 2-5 years. A terrific steak wine that will only improve in bottle through 2020. Pure one hundred percent cabernet sauvignon mixing 85 percent Block Las Terrazas, Old Pirque Vineyard, Maipo Valley and fifteen percent Puente Alto Vineyard, Maipo Valley both over poor alluvial stony soils over more gravel. The wine spends 14 months in French oak barrels.Tasted: 23 April 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
