Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Napa Valley, California, United StatesA much more typical year, compared to a very cool 2011. Warm days and cool nights prevailed all season right up to its November 3 pick date. Luscious, yet reserved and contained, the fruit comes off two sites To Kalon Vineyard, Oakville and Wappo Hill Wappo Hill Vineyard in the Stag's Leap District. Gentle handling through a 26 day maceration, cold and warm. Only 15 percent new oak is the answer to a delicious styling Napa cabernet that spends 16 months aging in oak. A beautiful frame of acidity and tannin sets the backdrop for this cabernet, ripe to perfection with savoury fresh notes throughout. Will live for years 10 - 20 given the balance and fruit and structure.
