Pentâge Winery Rousanne Marsanne Viognier Dirty Dozen Vineyards 2011

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the second vintage of Pentâge's Rhone inspired white, and in 2011 the blend was 60/20/20 roussanne, viognier, marsanne. Heady seashell, peach fuzz and honeysuckle aromas. The full, creamy palate carries the same, along with candied apricots, fragrant anise, heady clove studded oranges and lime pulp freshness. Barrel fermentation and weekly battonage amp up the mouthfeel and texture; this is not a shy wine. However, it is very well handled, and for all its potency, it finishes elegantly. Pair with seared tuna or prosciutto and melon. Tasted: 11 January 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
