Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Red Blend 2011

Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesOur second crack at this wine and we remain impressed although the blend has changed considerably. The 2011 mix is 39/39/9/4/3/3/2/1 merlot, syrah, malbec, grenache, petit verdot, cabernet sauvignon, mourvèdre and cabernet franc. Look for a rich enticing red fruit nose with plenty of smoke and savoury, meaty, black cherry, black raspberry aromas. The attack is smooth with soft tannins and more black cherry, plums, pepper, vanilla, tobacco and poultry spice. Drinkable for a young wine but you can hold this another two to four years.Tasted: 10 January 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
