Loma Larga Chardonnay 2013

Valle de Casablanca, Region de Aconcagua, ChileThe Larga style leans toward France, in this case clean and fresh is the goal, and a bit, if we can say, made in the St. Veran style. It's still Chile and there is riper fleshier style with bits of butter and citrus rind on the nose. Winemaker Cédric Nicolle admits to fighting too much alcohol and too little acid but he gets a lot of help from a cooler Casablanca climate. Expect a fresh style in 2013 thanks to a mix of clone 76 and Mendoza some of which is barrel fermented in larger tonneau. Love the green apple, floral, pea shoot, grassy, citrus aromas and the juicy, citrus, lemon, green apple, honey, butter, vanilla flavours. Acidity and finesse with a twist of nutty/lees. Well done.Tasted: 17 December 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
