Santa Rita Cabernet Sauvignon Medalla Real Gran Reserva 2010
Buin, Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileTypically open floral menthol bay leaf and cassis nose. The attack is smooth and balanced with dense, fine grained tannins to support the oak and spice and black fruit and licorice flavours. The fruit comes off a single estate in the Alto Jahuel district of the Maipo Valley and there a dash of cabernet franc in the mix. Smoky, spicy, herbal, cassis, minty, bay, black cherry, peppery, licorice flavours. More Euro than Napa but this need another year or two at least in bottle. Good value.Tasted: 12 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $22.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
