Santa Carolina Herencia 2009
Puemo, Valle del Cachapoal, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe flagship wine of Viña Santa Carolina, Herencia translates as heritage. Mostly carmenère, 3 percent cabernet sauvignon and 1 percent malbec flushes out this age-worthy wine. Leather, dried cassis, herbal blackberry leaf, cedar spice, currants, alluring violet florals. A fresh spike of acidity permeates a menthol/camphor note which lingers on the spicy finish. Tannins present, but worn, and will support this wine though the next 7-10 years. Decant if enjoying now, preferably with beef or pork tenderloin.Tasted: 14 October 2014Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $180.00 | 750ml | estimated retail price |
