Cassini Cellars Syrah Grand Reserve 2011
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Cassini style is big. The nose is mix of spice and oak with meaty, floral black fruit flavours. The attack is smooth and round with no shortage of glycerol and soft tannins. The palate is warm with smoky, vanilla, meaty, savoury black fruit. Rich and oaky this needs time in the bottle to settle in say three to five years. If you want to drink it now serve it with grilled or roasted lamb. The wine was aged for 14 months in new and 2 year old barrels 80/20 French/American.Tasted: 19 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices: BC 39.00 winery direct, private wine shops Producer: Cassini CellarsGrape: Shiraz/SyrahCSPC: 492561UPC: 00626990159148Flagstone Longitude Shiraz - Cabernet Sauvignon - Malbec 2012Domaine Maby La Fermade Rouge Lirac 2012
