Domaine Maby La Fermade Rouge Lirac 2012

Lirac, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe Lirac vineyard is 15.5 hectare plateau covered in river rock, planted to 56/30/14 grenache, mourvèdre, syrah approximately 35 years old. There's no oak here the wine is left in stainless steel until the following year when it is bottled. The grenache is fruity and brings liveliness, the syrah is for colour and sweetness as well as elegance and the stony character. The mourvèdre is all about complexity and chocolate. You think this delicious spicy silky red is oaked but it's not. Solid from start to finish and very food-friendly.Tasted: 19 October 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
