Byron Pinot Noir 2012

Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesIt's been 30 years since Ken Brown founded Byron and two owners later the Santa Maria Bench winery is only just beginning to show its stuff. Today 170 separate batches of pinot noir tell the story at Byron. Winemaker Johnathan Nagy is dialled in on pinot and chardonnay as evidenced by the delicious 2012 pinot noir. A cool spring led to small clusters and small berries and some fragrant, black cherry fruit flavours with almost floral/mineral Oregon finish. Ready to drink now but will keep well for three to five years. Try this with grilled sockeye salmon.Tasted: 07 September 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
