CedarCreek Gewürztraminer 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaUnder winemaker Darryl Brooker's reign, CedarCreek wines are more exciting than ever. The 2013 Gewurztraminer is a perfect example of how to take an oft-maligned, flabby and boring varietal, as made in BC, and make it into a must-try wine. Ripe and creamy with herbal/pink grapefruit nose and a rose petal vein throughout. Full bodied, the oily palate is flecked with ginger spice and ripe Anjou pear and white peach flavours. A slow, gentle press period and lengthy fermentation help preserve the aromatics, and makes for interesting interplay between its fragrant delicacy and weighty heft. Reminiscent of Alsace, but entirely BC.Tasted: 27 August 2014Tasted by: Prices:
