Peter Lehmann H&V Tempranillo 2012

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaSo this is what non-Brett tempranillo smells like. Fun juicy red with big black cherry aromas and plummy, black cherry fruit flavours. The attack is warm and round with easy-going, chalky tannins but quite a bit of alcohol that persists through the wine into the warm finish. According to many in Barossa the 2012 vintage came early and was very small. The weather was quite mild throughout and the quality of the red wines is outstanding. The wine was fermented on skins for ten days and then aged in older French oak hogsheads for six months prior to bottling. Try this roast chicken or turkey or your favourite pork dish.Tasted: 30 March 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
