Casa Silva Doña Dominga Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenère 2012

Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe carménère cabernet mix is slightly richer than the solo carménère and the tannins are a bit chewier. The nose is a peppery, bay leaf, cassis notes the attack sweet-ish with round red fruits and leafy, coffee peppery under tones. A winter stew or grilled lamb chops would work fine with this red.Tasted: 15 February 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
