Torres Mas La Plana (Gran Coronas Grand Reserva Black Label) 1989
Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainIn '89 the Mas La Plana cabernet harvest began September 19. The ferment lasted 20 days. The wine was aged for six months in French and American oak followed by another 12 months in second and third year oak. There's affair bit of brettanomyces on the nose blurring the wine. The entry is soft with cool leafy fruit spice olives and earth. The wine is balanced but the fruit is low with coffee and tobacco being the current major flavours now. Ready to drink. Best with big game or meat dishes.Tasted: 01 December 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | specialty listing |
