John Duval Plexus Marsanne Rousanne Viognier 2012

Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia2012 is year three for Plexus White. The latest mix is 55 marsanne, 35 roussanne and 10 viognier. Free run pressed and cold settled juice give some early complexity while some of the marsanne and viognier is barrel fermented for texture and weight. The wine is surprisingly fresh with exotic stone fruit aromas in the lead supported by citrus/acidity. On the palate there is intensity and richness with plenty of citrus and honeysuckle flecked with mandarin orange peel. Duval picks early to keep the alcohol a moderate 13.5 which adds to the freshness without being acidic.Tasted: 23 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
