John Duval Plexus Marsanne Rousanne Viognier 2010
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe first Plexus White was released in 2010. The blend is 62 marsanne from Marananga, 22 roussanne from Kalimna and 12 per cent viognier from Eden Valley. Free run pressed and cold settled juice give some early complexity while some of the marsanne and viognier was barrel fermented and aged in barrel for seven months and only seven per cent was new. The wine is surprisingly fresh and bright but with fine structure and acidity. Expect a stone fruit palate with orange flecks and with a touch of nuttiness on the finish. Stylish and modern it is picked in early March to keep the alcohol in check at 13 percent.Tasted: 18 September 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $40.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Vintage West Marketing |
