Almaviva 2009
Puente Alto, Valle del Maipo, ChileOne of the better wines that revel's in its elegance and styling. Love the mix of liqorice, earth, tar and black fruit and minerals with refined chalky tannins, firm acidity. Frankly the wood is much better handled here than in most of the Bordeaux at the Montreal tasting. The blend is 73% cabernet sauvignon, 22% carmenère, 4% cabernet franc and 1% merlot.
