Chateau Lascombes 2010
Margaux, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceLascombes is one of the largest estates in the Médoc with some 40 separate site in Margaux appellation. The current blend is 55 percent cabernet sauvignon, 40 percent merlot and 5 percent petit verdot. Typically the wine spends about 18 months in 60 percent new oak barriques. In 2010 look for a big coffee, smoky espresso oak nose with vanilla, blackberry, cassis jam, floral aromas. The attack is full with chewy, tannic smoky coffee, liquorice flavours spiked with pepper, blackberry jam and earthy cherry flavours. Good fullness and concentration but with a dominance of oak and dry tannins at this. Give this five to eight years to integrate.Tasted: 25 September 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $200.00 | 750ml |
