Ben Marco Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Mendoza, ArgentinaThe 2011 cab has 5 percent of merlot and 5 per cent of cabernet franc in the blend from the Agrelo and Altamira zones. All vines are ungrafted. The blend spends 11 months in 60% new French oak barrels and 40% second use American oak. Look for a black olive, peppery, cassis nose with flecks of earth, smoke, black berry and saddle leather aromas. The attack is round and smooth the palate full with light, fine-grained tannins and more sweet cassis, black cherry, liquorice and tobacco flavours. Good intensity and balance and still very youthful at this point. Best with grilled meats.Tasted: 24 August 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $18.00 | 750ml | |
